FA CORE FALL 2025
Artwork by Andrew Durgin Barnes and Dill, with a photo of Gino by Natas and creative direction from Dill. I handled production and ideation, scaling a toy Wanto board for heat transfer, turning inside-joke color concepts into foil-embossed boards with Krink and BBS, and creating a shaped embossed board based on AVE’s preferred curb-skating shape.
FA CORE SPRING 2025
I would pick up Dill around 10am and we'd go to the studio, he'd work on paintings and I'd work on boards until the sun set. This season sticks out to me because although it's the standard FA process of making boards, I feel like we really leaned into digital compositing as well as incorporating veneer as a graphic element, breaking out of the standard class photo layout. No table tennis this time around; one of these boards only has the logo as a high density layer, another has a 50/50 dip.
FA SUMMER 2025 | GUEST ARTIST: SICKID
Sickid would come by the warehouse with different batches and iterations of portraits. We'd drink Yerba Mate and talk about going to The Smell as teenagers and he'd direct me on edits to make. "Patch this, fill this in, bring in some more saturation, sharper, make it pop, etc." Each portrait was scaled up and prepared for heat transfer.
SELECTIONS FROM FA CORE 2024 AND 2023
Various seasons of boards made under direction from Dill, either in person, by snail mail or iMessage, sometimes we took breaks to play table tennis or write on the wall. Digital collage, analog collage, bitmap and scanner magic. Processes used: Screen Print, High-Density Print, Foil, Heat Transfer.
